What is something people don’t know about you? I’m a PK. (Preachers Kids have a special club)

How does CrossFit influence your life?Being fit doesn’t just happen, you have to work at it. Crossfit takes the physical limitations off my life and enables me to do what I want to do and keep up with the youngsters. 

How long have you been doing CrossFit? How long at CFWDM?Since Crossfit WDM opened, how long ago was that? 5-6 years?
What class do you usually attend? Noon, sometimes 4:30
What is your favorite lift? Power clean
What is your favorite move? Pull ups and rope climbs… neither of which I could do when I started.
What is your favorite workout?
Long chippers that have a lot of different movements
Why did you start CrossFit?
My friend Tony says: “Hey, you want to come to my garage in the mornings for a Crossfit workout? I need someone to coach.” Me: “Sure, better than working out by myself at the Y… what’s Crossfit?” Tony: “Constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity” Me: “Uh… I don’t know what that means but I’ll give it a try”
What keeps you coming back?
The workouts are different everyday. The coaches push you to get better. The comradery of the people I workout with is great – everyone supporting each other, having fun together, and getting our butts kicked together.
What did you do for fitness before CrossFit?
Worked out at the YMCA on a less than regular basis
What do you like to do outside of CrossFit?
Spending time with my wife and kids. Sand volleyball, travel, sailing the Caribbean
What is your favorite song(s) to workout to?
Anything with a good beat and fast tempo.
What is your favorite cheat/meal snack?
Chocolate and desserts
What is your favorite healthy/meal snack?
Nuts, carrots
What is the most difficult workout you’ve attempted?
Fran isn’t the most difficult, but it is my least favorite.
How has CrossFit WDM helped you keep on top of your health and wellness goals?
CrossFit helps me stay fit… and burn off calories from the food a shouldn’t eat!
